Deleting this site

  I can’t seem to be able to delete this site. I have signed up with another email address on WordPress, which I am paying for (which I typed wrong, saying gamil instead of gmail and now it isn’t letting me change it, it says ‘this method is not allowed’ every time I try to), and this account is no longer necessary. There is no button anywhere that says, delete account, or anything. Please please help me, I don’t know what to do!

  Hello,

  You can change your email, go to Account settings, enter a new email address and click “Save Account Settings”.

  Check your email, you will receive an email at the new address with a confirmation link. Click the confirmation link to confirm the change and update the email on your account.

  Please also note that WordPress.COM accounts cannot be deleted, this is to keep anyone from registering the same username in the future. If once you change your email you’d like to deactivate your account here are instructions:

  1. Go to My Account->Edit Profile, remove all of your data aside from the account name and an email address.

  2. Next, create a new email address to use for the account (one that you won’t use for anything else) and update the account to that email address.

  3. Finally, visit http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html and generate a password between 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it.
