Deleting title name that is on main page twice
-
I am very new. I am attempting to make a web page and I accidentally typed the company name twice. I would very much like to remove the company name that is sitting BELOW the picture. I was told last week by support to upgrade to CSS which I did but I know nothing about it. Am I supposed to go to my dashboard….appearance…Edit CSS…delete any wording that is sitting in it and then start typing in a code???? Annnnny help would be absolutely wonderful. I will patiently wait for a reply.

It looks like you have defined Front Page for your site, instead of the default latest posts list. That’s perfectly ok, but that page has the same title as your site.
If you want to keep on using a custom Front Page, you just need to change its title, to, for instance “Welcome” or another title.

I have made the front page as my static page. I want to delete the wording below the picture. I dont want the company name to show up twice.

What you’ll need to do is change the title of your first post:
- Go to your Posts menu (Posts > All Posts from your blog’s Dashboard)
- Hover your mouse pointer over the ‘BLUE RIBBON CARPET AND UPHOLSTERY CLEANING’ text and click the ‘Edit’ link that appears
- Change the title from BLUE RIBBON… to something different, then click the Update button to publish the change
If you need any further help please let us know!

Thankyou for your response. I believe if I do what you are telling me is that it would change the wrong one. I want the the wording deleted BELOW the picture!!!!

Yes, the wording below the picture is your first post – you can change that using my instructions. If you decide you don’t want to keep the change, you can always revert it back.

One last question for the day!!! I am going to attempt to change my font using typekit today. Because I am a beginner which would be the best way for me to change my CSS stylesheet:
1. Add to my twenty ten theme OR
2. Start from scratch???? -
If you are just wanting to change the fonts of your site using Typekit, you won’t need to have the CSS Upgrade. You can follow the directions on our Typekit support page to get Typekit set up with your blog.
If you are still wanting to edit your CSS and are a beginner, you should probably start out just by adding CSS to your current theme.
We have some great CSS resources that you can use to help you to learn CSS.

Well…..life is never easy… Typekit says for the particular font I want I will need to add on to my CSS stylesheet their code. It is not listed in their drop down menu for a easy squeezy download. Yes… among 50 million other books I am reading regarding building a web page I will refer to CSS resources.!!!! thankyou so much for your time.
