deleting uploaded photos

I’m having problems to delete a photo after uploaded it. I click delete, save continue editing, and looking the post after, the photo continues there. Is there any other way to effectively delete an uploaded photo ?

locate the image and delete it
Now go into the post or page it appears on and delete it again. -
I tried this way, manage – uploads – deleted 2 photos, went to the post, deleted again, saved and they continue there :(

Do remember to clear your browser cache and do a forced reload of the page; you could be looking at something that isn’t there anymore.

There is another small problem with deleting images which you may have to work around.
I’ve found difficulties with deleting and then re-uploading the same file.
If you upload a picture and subsequently decide to change it – for example because you need to resize – and so you delete it, resize, and then upload it again, then for some reason your original version will load up, and not your revised copy.
This might have something to do with the ‘memory’ lag of the various servers around the world. Usually by the next day that old version is gone.
Whatever the reason, the workaround is to save your resized / revised images with a different name. That works, every time.
