Deleting wordpress from domain

  Hi there,
  I would like to use another service for my website portfolio and thus trying to uninstall wordpress from my domain.

  I’ve noticed that it is possible to delete wordpress but will also delete domain name (which I wish to keep and use for my new website).

  My domain was bought from OVH service and is hosted there as well.

  Is it possible to delete wordpress without losing my domain name ?

  Hi,

  Seems like your site was not hosted on wordpress.com but wordpress.org(free to all services of WordPress).

  In case your website is currently built on WordPress application on your hosting platform, then there will be no effect on the ownership of the domain if you want to move to another service.

  Hi,

  Yes I was able to identify the problem. I ended up deleting manually my site from net2ftp but I think I broke the whole thing…

  It doesn’t redirect to the DNS settings I’ve set and only show FTP page. I’m a real beginner for this, so I’m not sure how to fix it. Would you have an idea ?

  Please contact support at OVH directly for help with this, as your domain is registered, and your website hosted, with them.

  The forum you’re posting to now is for another hosting provider, WordPress.com, and we have no control over either your domain or site, so no way to tell what might be wrong or how to fix it :)
