deleting your blog without knowing your admin account
-
we are a student group that started a blog around 10 years again. We now want to delete our own site and start new… but unfortunately we can’t reconstruct who the administrator was. Admin name and password are gone and we don’t know what to do! We only have the name and password for an editor account.
What should we do?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Companies, groups or organizations do not own blogs. Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address.
The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased any upgrades to renew them, or to transfer the blog and the upgrades to another username account, or to use the lost password link or account recovery form, or to delete the blog.

delete our own site and start new..
If you delete the site the URL / address is gone forever – sounds like you might be really wanting to get rid of the old content and start with new fresh content
Since you have Editor privileges – you can delete (or set to “Private” all the content – then leave a note on the front page that you have moved to a new address
As an Editor about all you can’t do that an Admin can do is to delete the site or change themes
