Deleting/editing a support question?
-
Hi,
I’m trying to set up an anonymous blog and accidentally added my full name on an earlier question to this support page. How can I delete/edit the question so it wouldn’t consist my full name? As it now clearly comes up on google..
(I already panicked and deleted my blog but I would like to keep the name I came up with and reset it.)
Anyone? Please help! I’m desperate! -

I flagged the other thread for the staff or Moderators to remove your name
todaysthedaymylifebegins.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.
Sorry but that blog name is now gone forever, even from you, deleted domain names are not recycled at WordPress.COM

Well thank you! Hopefully my name will be soon deleted from the post.
Ok, that’s a shame. It was so hard coming up with a good domain! -
The name removal request is second in line.
Yes – we always tell people to NEVER delete a blog name, many people change the name then have second thoughts or they then notice that all the bookmarks of their friends went to the old site which is now deleted.
If you want to take a site “off line” for a while it can be set to “Private” and that keeps everyone out but people you invite in.
And this forum has great “Google Juice” and is scanned often and the info here is indexed very quickly, as you found out – on the good side – the email address you posted in the other thread was hidden, only to be seen by the staff or moderators, so Google did not get the address
Your name will however live on in search engine caches for a while.

Well, live and learn! Maybe from now on I shall stay out of the internet to avoid further embarrassment. A great deal of thanks to you though!

Shouldn’t it have been deleted already? How long does it usually take for staff members to respond to these?

Thank you jackiedana!
Thank you also to auxclass!
Patience is a virtue. I’m off to new adventures, wiser than before.
Cheers! -
