  I just got an email demanding payment within 24 hours and claiming I was contacted by phone, which never happened. What is this payment for?

  Wordpress.com never contacts people by Phone. Wait for help by a Staff member .

  What exactly did the phone call claim you were being charged for?

  That’s a well known spam/scam email, you should ignore it. Google “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” to see many sites discussing the scam.

  Your domain appears to be registered through GoDaddy and expires 2021-09-20. If you want to double check, you could contact GoDaddy support and ask them to verify that your domain is fine.
