DePo Masthead ‘more tag’ only applying to first column

I am using the DePo Masthead theme and all of sudden my more tags will only apply to the first column (far left side) and the middle and far right sides run full posts creating horribly long columns on the front page. I have been using this theme for months with ‘more tags’ used in every post and never had this problem before. I have made the blog private (as it looks so bad without a fix) but hopefully WP admin have access.

WP staff have access to the innards of your blog, no matter if you’ve made it private or not. But the forum is mostly populated by volunteers, who don’t (and mustn’t) have such access. So you should either switch to the middle privacy setting or contact staff.

It’s particularly strange because if you look in your archives, it cuts off at the right place… precisely where the more tag is. And not all of the DePo Masthead users are having this issue… This one appears to be working fine, for instance: http://alexchompff.wordpress.com/

For anyone who knows more than I do about coding, it appears that the <!–more–> tag functions correctly in any column as long as there is no <!–more–> tag in newer posts.
For instance, if I put up a new post with no more tag in it, the older post in the middle column will cut off at the right point, where the more tag is in the coding. As soon as I add a <!–more> tag in the new post in the left column, the post in the middle column is displayed at full length, regardless of where I put the more tag in the coding for the middle column content.
I’d be really grateful to anyone who could help with this curious and interesting problem =). Thanks everyone!

panaghiotisadam — I’m new to wordpress, and you seem to be much more familiar with it. Any idea on how long it takes the staff to fix these types of problems? Any chance they won’t fix it at all? They’re probably swamped with requests all the time… Thanks.

I got an email from support this morning to say they will work on it, and another email shortly after to say that it had been fixed. I’m impressed by the response time.
Unfortunately, the situation is still the same… :(
I’m confident that the folks at support will get it fixed eventually though!
