Deprecated php functions and Jetpack

    Hello, on returning after a few days to administer my site I am seeing deprecated functions in some lines of php in my theme and an error message that Jetpack can’t communicate with my site as the REST API is not responding correctly. I took this site over a while ago and am a relative novice with WordPress though skilled with Joomla. Can you please advise what has triggered these errors and how to resolve. Thankyou
