Desaturated Images – No solution found!
-
I have been uploading images for a number of years now within my blog, and I have never had any issues.
Now, the last image I uploaded has a significant amount of saturation loss after upload.
Have checked all settings on my end, … sRGB, save to web, … etc.
I have yet to find out what the problem is and I am pretty sure that it is not on my end right now after trying numerous times to replace the image with a different version.
All images before this last post/image looks just fine.
This last image looks rather terrible with its loss of color.Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks gang,

If the images that you are uploading are uploaded at the actual size that you are going to insert into your posts, there should be no issues since wordpress would be serving the exact image you uploaded to the browser.
If you upload a larger image and then insert it into a post at a smaller size then there could be an issue. (Example: upload an 1600 x 1200 image and then insert it into the post as a “medium 300px wide +/-).
When you upload an image, WordPress will create off of that image a thumbnail and a medium (resizing and resampling). The WordPress resize/resample stuff is not as good as Photoshop or even most of the free image editing programs available on the web. If you insert something other than the thumbnail or medium image, the wordpress sends the full-sized image to the browser and relies on the browser to resize the image for display.
My suggestion is to resize and resample the image before uploading them to exactly the size you want to insert into your posts and then insert them as “full-sized.”

I have determined that it must be something on my end set within Photoshop, as I tried uploading the same image to two other sites with the same results.
I’ll figure it out soon, … I hope!Thanks again,

Save for web automatically does the sRGB, and sRGB would have been one of the first things I would have mentioned.
The only other thing I can suggest is when you change the image size before doing the “save for web” make sure and select “Bicubic Sharper” for the image resampling.
