Description for website
-
Hi there,
My website’s name is catchylifestyl.com when I google it it shows up but the problem is that it says A description for this result is not available because of this site’s robots.txt – learn more.
Can you help me make a description for my website?
Thanks -
Hi there. I hope you are having a good evening. What are the privacy settings on your website? If you don’t have it set to allow search engines to index your site, that could be giving you this result. Here is the support document about privacy settings. Check it out and I hope this helps! https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

Hi there,
I changed it but it's still the same
Do you know another way or do I need to wait for sometime, unt -
Hello again. I just Googled your webpage and the robots.txt message no longer appears. Did you still want a general description of your site to appear? When I look up your webpage, the description of the first hit is the menu of the blog and the title of the most recent post.

It looks good now but how can I change it to a description of the website with the categories that people can just click on them when finding it on Google?!
Thanks a lot

change it to a description of the website
re: HTML and metadata access
There is no metadata access for us wordpress.COM bloggers and we cannot insert any code into the <header>. This is a multi-user blogging platform. Our blogs share a common architecture. We bloggers cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. Note http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/
What’s important are the keywords in the site title and the tagline:

No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. You can read more about why here http://support.wordpress.com/code/, and find a suitable host here http://get.wp.com/hosting/
From: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questionsre: search engine discoverability
It can take weeks for search engines to index your site content. Please read this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/ so you know we have no control over search engines positioning or appearance in the SERPs (search engine page results).
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
To gain search engine attention, I recommend that you start publishing posts (not pages) https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ frequently. That’s because it can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL.

You may want to read these:
https://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/Posting of some affiliate text links is possible, provided the blog is an actual blog and not just a storefront. Please read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/ closely.
WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
The only advertising program at WordPress.COM is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/No blogger initiated advertising for driving traffic to third party sites is allowed. PPC is not allowed. Affiliate marketing banners and any and all advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.COM are not allowed.

Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
