Description unavailable because of robots.txt

  Hi there,

  When my website appears in Google underneath the link it says this:

  A description for this result is not available because of this site’s robots.txt – learn more.

  Is their a solution to this problem?
  And would this problem be effecting my SEO?

  Yes, and yes.

  It’s a common message on new blogs. Provided you haven’t tinkered with privacy settings to make your blog invisible to search engines, just make some blog posts and wait. It can take up to seven weeks to be indexed properly by search engines.

  If you want some tips on making it happen faster, look at the SEO tag in the forum for some pointers.

  There was a time when I had my site as private, but I’ve since made it public and my “Site Visibility” is set to: Allow search engines to index this site… That’s reason why I’m confused.

  7 weeks for my description to appear?
  Goodness… Lucky I’m not starving lol.
