design, pre-launch, header vs home and how to reset everything

    Hello,

    I am just designing my website. I have been trying this for several hours now, and I am about to give up. I am very new to this but I just can’t find the answer. Somehow I have a header with a nice image and everything, but then I also have a ‘home’ and in the menu I cannot access the header. I don’t understand the difference between a header and a home and why is the header not in my menu, but more importantly where is the reset button? I don’t want to keep doing this, jI want to start all over. This is exasperating and I want to cry. Also, why are all designs so stiff? I can’t move photos around or erase text easily. I have experience building websites in other platforms that were way easier to use than this one. It doesn’t seem straightforward nor intuitive.

    Hi Mariana,

    Could you post the websites address that I can check your issues? It also would be interesting to know the Plan you are on.

    As with every powerful software you have to learn a few basics and try things out a bit to get used to it. My experience: I worked with quite a few platforms but WordPress was always my favourite.

    If you host your site on WordPress.com you first have to choose the plan that suits you best. A comparison of the different plans will be here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    Hi there Mariana, if you have a free WPcom website that hasn’t been launched yet, please let us know what theme you are using on your website and which Editor you are using on your site, the Classic Editor or the Block Editor.

    If you are using and are new to the Block Editor, you’ll find a detailed introduction in our support site at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/ where you’ll also find links to detailed information on each of the available blocks in the sidebar.

    Once we know which theme and editor you are using, we can take it from there.
