There is a line running through our logo at the top of the page. How can we move it – without changing design templates?

You need to remove that background image anyway. The theme is centered in relation to the browser window, so the left bg area doesn’t have a fixed width: it varies from very wide to nothing at all, depending on the visitor’s screen resolution or device. Drag the browser window to make it narrower and see what different visitors will see.
