design tools won't load in any change of theme

Design tools won’t load on any theme, in any browser.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. But before you decide that is the issue, please note that until two weeks ago, I could activate the design widgets/tools on Esquire.
If this arrangement has changed, it would be good to have a post somewhere that says that any changes to one’s theme can only be possible with a Custom Design upgrade.
Two weeks ago, things I was able to do no longer are possible, which co-incides with your upgrading and bedding in new changes.
Also, it continues, that when I click on My Sites in the WordPress section (with Reader and Stats), I see a blank page. That’s been going on for weeks.

As mentioned before. I was able to click on My Sites in the WordPress section and go to My Sites. Now I see a blank page – to clarify – nothing on the page, just the pale blue background. It’s not a slow load either.
In Askimet, I get a message in Yummy Pie that says it doesn’t fit the borders (or something like that). That’s been going on for months. Askimet doesn’t appear to be working at all – and while I have very modest expectations for readership – I was actually receiving email comments, which do not happen, and have not since the end of August.
I used to be able to click on appearance customise and a side panel, that says ‘design tools’ loading would appear, and one could then try out what various widgets would do, and change the colour (not the full menu). That’s all stopped. I just get a permanent black side strip that says, loading design tools, but nothing occurs.
I thought perhaps it was the theme itself, so yesterday I switched themes a few times and saw the same thing, so have reverted back to Esquire.
I have mentioned many of these issues before to various ‘happiness engineers’ and supplied screen grabs, and then no response.
It would be appreciated if something could be done.
I understand, according to messages posted on WordPress, that you and your fellow helpers are busy sorting out issues with those who have paid for themes etc. And that there is a backlog of issues which those who do not pay simply have to put up with until everything else is sorted.
That’s fine. But a timeline on that would be helpful. Or simply post what things can be done to troubleshoot issues.
I’ve scanned my computer. It’s not a bug. Everything else works fine. It’s just this blogsite.

Oh, and I can’t even preview what custom design tools would look like on the blog.
Same message: Loading design tools.
Then nothing.

Hello!
Is this the thread you’re talking about with Velda? It looks like you never followed up with her.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/private-support/problems-with-accessing-my-webpage
Can you do the things she asked and let me know how it goes?
Let’s try two things. I noticed you use Safari, so on one of those blank pages, press Command + Option + C , then click on the “Errors” tab. Can you copy and paste what’s there?
Also, can you confirm whether you have this same trouble in Chrome or Firefox?
This is the page I get to when I click “Menus” — https://therougeboudoir.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
And this is what I get when I click on Stats: https://wordpress.com/my-stats
Are you able to see the pages if you access them directly? Let me know and we’ll go from there. Cheers!

Hello Shawna
I did in fact reply with several emails, which Velda did not respond to. I have now resent the emails to your address.
I don’t use Chrome at all, and the same problems occur in Firefox.
I’ve scanned my computer and there are no bugs, all other sites work perfectly fine, and these issues started late August with the ‘seizing’ up of Askimet, which still posts a message in the yummy pie section about something exceeding the borders, whatever that means.
Since then I cannot see My Sites when I click on it – I just see a blank blue page, and cannot only access my dashboard by clicking on ‘New Post’, Classic, and then I see my dashboard. Highly convoluted.
This issue began about two and half weeks ago and coincided with the failure of design tools to load when Appearance is clicked. I was able to load design tools and at least see some widgets, but nothing loads.
Design tools doesn’t load at all in any theme – I’ve switched themes to see if the problem persists and it does. I have not changed any settings and have gone through every one with a fine tooth comb.
So my conclusion is that in the processing of updating wordpress, there has been a glitch that has now affected my and no doubt, others’ blogs.
In short: I cannot access my dashboard directly after logging into wordpress – I have to click on new post in the reader section, then classic mode, then I can see the dashboard.
I cannot access design tools in any theme, and was able to do so in Esquire until 2.5 weeks ago.
Sometimes I’ve had to enter my log in details 5-6 times in order to access the main wordpress (blue) page.
No direct access.
Hope you can sort this out. Maybe it’s a case of third time lucky.
Kind regards
Madamoiselle Violette

Thanks so much for those details! I’m not sure what could have happened with your follow up emails, but I’m very sorry we never saw your follow up.
Can you check that your browser is up to date? You can see the latest versions of common browsers here:
It sounds like something on your computer is blocking the scripts on our pages from rendering. Do you have an additional firewall or browser-scanning virus software installed that may have updated around the time time this started happening?
