How can we change the admin e-mail address?

  My daughter and I are both registered with WordPress.com – me to obtain an API number and her with a blog: katiemichaela.com. Somehow our two email addresses have been reversed and she can’t change hers back to [email removed].

  Hi there,

  You can change the email address associated with the account by going to your blog’s Dashboard > Users > Personal Settings and inserting your daughter’s email address into the text box next to “E-mail.”

  She will receive a confirmation email to activate this change. If it doesn’t appear in her inbox, it may be in the Spam/Junk mail folder.

  My daughter and I both have accounts at WordPress.com. Somehow it has switched our email accounts and won’t let us correct them. When I follow your instructions and try to correct mine, it gives me an error message that that email address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) is already in use. Similarly, when I use Katie’s password and username to administer her blog (KatieMichaela.com) and try to correct her email address, I get the same message.

  It sounds like you may have to do a little admin dance here. Because your email addresses are already being used with other accounts – namely, each other’s – WordPress won’t accept them in your Personal Settings pages.

  If you could create a new email address to use with one of your accounts, you will then be able to utilize the replaced email with another account. For example, if your daughter inserts a temporary email (that she has access to) in her Personal Settings, you should be able to update your personal email address so that it’s associated with the correct account.

  Then, your daughter should be able to associate her email address with the appropriate account. Please be sure to click on the confirmation links in each email with each change.
