Designating more than 1 post section
-
How do I designate more than one section of my website as posting for blogs? For example, I want a “blog” for writing every day and then another section to write tutorials.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Since Tutorials aren’t really “posts”, I would make them Pages — one Page for every tutorial. Then you can give each of those Page one or more categories — one should be “Tutorials”.
Then, on your site, you can show all tutorials at http://simplymilkco.com/tutorials , so you can add a link in your menu that points to that URL.
Hope that makes sense!

My Tutorials ARE Posts –
You can have a Category called “Tutorial” and sort by Category using a custom menu – or just have a link to the proper Category in the Sidebar – yes any tutorial would show up on the front page when published if you have Posts showing for your front page – but that would also tell your visitors that you had a NEW tutorial – and search engines would be told about your new tutorial
Categories are also easier to sort with hind site (you change your mind next week) and Categories can also be divided with sub-categories under a main category by subjects if you want

I would still like to keep tabs at the top for Tutorials and Blog Posts. Looks like it’s not an option?

They all do if you use a custom menu https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-post-on-another-page?replies=2
