  I purchased a theme from desingerthemes.com and I am having trouble installing the zip file.

  Hello there. Third-party themes cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites. We have over 250 free and premium themes available for our users, however. If you’d like assistance choosing one, I can help.

  Third-party themes, such as the one you purchased from desingerthemes.com/, can only be used on self-hosted WordPress sites. If you have any questions about hosting here at WordPress.com, and self-hosting via WordPress.org, please take a look at the following:

  Is there anyway I can have someone set up the theme for me at WorPress.org? I am absolutely clueless when it comes to code and the such. I ended up buying the Stack Theme ($49) from Designer, and now it’s just sitting on my MacBook in a zipped folder.

  Unfortunately, theme/template installation on an outside server is not something we can do for you at WordPress.com. However, I have some resources which might help:

  If you need professional help for your self-hosted WordPress site, please check out:

  You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

  I hope this gives you a good start. If you’re concerned about how much technical know-how is required to manage your own site, you may consider getting a refund for your theme (just let them know you are a WordPress.com user and didn’t realize that a third-party theme cannot be installed on our servers), choose a premium or free theme from our showcase, and allowing us to help you build your site here.
