Designer/Custom Rank/Position

  This is more of a suggestion if there is currently no solution but I’m wondering if there is any way to allow a user to edit the css and the widgets without being an administrator. Is there any sort of “Designer” position or even just a custom position that can be created?

  I think that a lack of a “designer position” or a custom position that can be created by an administrator is a weakpoint in the security of a wordpress site since, when making someone an Admin so they can write the CSS for you or whatnot, it gives them the ability to delete the site if they so wanted (which I understand is part of the responsibility behind making them Admin).

  They would have to be an admin, and there is no way to create a custom role.

  It’s generally considered that if you’re giving a user the means to affect how your site appears to the world, you might as well give the ability to delete it too. In most cases, you could do just as much damage by adjusting a sites design to include things that most people would rather not see.
