Designing Splash Page, Don't want Date to Show
-
Hi there,
I got a Twenty Eleven theme to use as a splash page to my two other WP websites. I do not want the DATE OF THE POST to show. Nor do I want the SEARCH, HOME button or POST IN UNCATEGORIZED to show. Can I remove them? Would I be better off changing to another theme?
I just want a splash/portal page to my other sites, without all that other stuff. Hope someone can help me. : )
Here is my page: http://vantagepointsplash.wordpress.com/
Thanks!!
Laura

Do get rid of the date and the category, you just need to create a static page (in Pages > Add New) instead a post.
To get rid of the Home tab you need to create and activate an empty custom menu in Appearance > Menus.
But you can’t get rid of the search box without the Custom Design upgrade, so you’d better look for a different theme. -
Thanks, Pana! If I get the CSS can I just get it for one year? Will my changes remain in effect if I don’t renew it next year?
Thanks!

No. if you don’t renew the custom design upgrade prior to the expiration date the blog will revert back to the way the theme is coded and all CSS editing you did will be gone.

Okay. I’ll look for another theme then, timethief, cuz I already have css on my two other blogs.
Thanks for your help. If you know of any, offhand, that would work nicely for a splash page, I’d love to know.
Thanks so much!
Laura
