My firewall stopped the ‘https://desktop.wordpress.com/?ref=promo_reader_a0001’ because it has a trojan in it…. maybe check it out. Thanks,

Hi there!
Can you let me know the exact text of the error you’re seeing? Also, did you see it when attempting to access that site or after clicking on the button to download the app? We don’t have any record of a virus on that page but I’ll be happy to look into the error with some more details.
Thanks.

I’m running 360 Total Security and it prevented the Trojan by isolating it and it was after the download but during the opening of the download.

Thank you for the extra information and for taking the time to report to us.
I have checked through reports in our system and can assure you that it’s safe to download the WordPress.com app from the following site:
The error shown by 360 Total Security is a “false positive.” From their support documentation, you can add WordPress.com a “the Trust List” in order to download the app:
You may add particular files you trust to the Trust List. 360 Total Security will then not scan and detect these files.
You may also send the particular files or installer to us.
Please compress the files and email them to (email visible only to moderators and staff) or visit the following web page and submit the samples: https://www.360totalsecurity.com/en/suspicion/
Let me know if that’s helpful or if you have any further concerns.
