Desktop site no longer facilitates editing

    I really think WordPress should be on top of this. More rigorous systems and regression testing before releasing new versions or patches, etc. Many years ago, I used to run software development teams, design test cases (user, systems, integration, regression, etc) and release protocols and testing thereof… I would not have been happy with current status. FYI I use MS Edge on my Surface Laptop…I am not planning on changing either, nor should I have to? Thnx R Mark

  • @swalesmetroprof Our development cycle is thorough and incorporates extensive automated and manual testing before we launch new features and bug fixes. However, there are instances like this one that we identify and address promptly by collaborating closely with our developers to implement fixes as quickly as possible.

    I would add the issue seems sporadic/random…sometimes the visual block editor works..then sometimes not?.

    While we’re trying to identify the patterns in this, could you let us know if you’re interacting with the touchscreen during your content editing? If yes, is it possible to share a screen recording of the steps you’re taking until it no longer functions, please?

    I’m sorry to say that this problem has returned in exactly the same form, and is very much not solved.

    This problem seems no longer to be confined to the desktop site and is now also affecting the mobile one.

  • It would be very helpful if you could help us with sharing a screen recording on your Surface and mobile devices of what steps are you taking while editing when it stops working. This will help us understand the issue very clearly and we can troubleshoot accordingly.
