Why do you have to change it at all?

  • @ksubi The answer might wind up being a little involved for a forum post but contact us in support and one of the Theme Team will help you out. :)

I miss my tagline. How can I have it back? It´s there in my settings, but it does not appear. Can u help?

‘The h4 tag that held the entry date is now simply a div with the class of entry-meta.’

It might simply be a div to you mate but I have no idea what on earth you’re talking about. The whole thing seems absurdly technical to me. I can’t be the only blogger aged 50+ who doesn’t speak like that or who knows what it means.

Thank you SO MUCH for the explanation!!! I agree with curiosity
cat and appreciate her logical explanation. Thank you for
responding, despite it being a bit sticky of a subject. My trust
in wordpress would not be fully renewed without this explanation.

    And now I can move on… :)

I want to give my two cents…Keep Press Row and just add the other. I like Press Row and all my blogs/websites are based on it because I like it so much. Replacement is a BAD move. It seems like a lot of people agree with me.

  • @barbaraporto PressRow didn’t display the tagline but Pilcrow does in the footer.

@bravenewmalden The code samples only apply if you’re using the Custom CSS upgrade for your blog.

themeshaper, thank you for the link to the old, old books image. I’m still not very happy, but as least I’m no longer freaking out that the look of my blog is going to change in a bad way.

you guys all need to chill, i just changed mine to get it over with and it really looks the same. and they probably can’t use pressrow due to some expiration of a license agreement for the guy or entity who owns the copyright, or they might have to pay more for it and have decided not to extend the contract. we are getting a free service through which we can post our ideas to the world, and wordpress looks a lot a better than most other blogs out there.

if you really want to keep it you can download the format as a plug in and pay for your own website, or not. everyone should just relax, it really isn’t that big of a deal.

I think everybody would like to know the reason for this replacement. Could you inform us about it, please? Thank you.

  • @ferneteishon I provided a short answer above. I hope that helps!

I see the same problem reported by stillnonameblog (#18). Wide images are cut off in Pilcrow, while they display just fine in PressRow.

  • @pianofab Thanks for letting us know! We’re taking a look at it.

  • @sybaritestory flickr widget images should be nicely centered now.

@anotthes Your portrait images should be aligned correctly again. Thanks for providing an example of the display bug!

When I switched to pilcrow from pressrow it killed my custom header and forced me to reupload my header there was no option to reselect my header. Now I can’t get the text straightened out on my other pages. This is terrible. Along with that I can’t get the text in my widgets to left align anymore and now there is no way for me to go back. This is terrible. I’m seriously considering just biting the bullet now and just moving my blog to squarespace since I pay for custom CSS and upgrade services….this was a FAIL move wordpress, there was no reason to retire a working theme with one with bugs in it.

    2 things:

    1. The menu bar is now in caps which are much more difficult to read (ex-graphic designer talking)
    2. Our logo is currently cut in half – no doubt this can be sorted

Great pity you’re changing – we hunted high and low for a very clear simple graphic solution. Good luck to everyone who has to spend yet more time tweaking their site when they could be doing something else.

Another question – I’d like readers of my blog to be able to post photographs/illustrations etc, not just comments, in the comments box. Is this going to be possible? Thanks.

Okay. Some of us are now TOTALLY confused.
PressRow was what – a template? Replaced by PilCrow, yes?

Looked at my site. I see I have “ChaoticSoul” by Bryan Veloso.
Does this mean that C/S was a PressRow? I thought PressRow was it’s own format.
Why am I getting notice of any sort if I have ChaoticSoul?

Here’s yet another reason to choose WordPres.org instead of com. At least you can get your own templates and folks don’t get to keep changing things. Just a thought.

thank you for fixing the flickr thing!!!

is it possible to show each post’s location on the homepage? that was a feature that i would’ve liked to see on pressrow.. it’d be great if this is an option for pilcrow. thanks in advance!
