Details on Referring Links

    I’ve been promoting my site on facebook, twitter, google+ and linked in. I notice on my referal links that when I get links on linked in they are very detailed so I can see where in linked in the user came from – but when I’m getting traffic from facebook, twitter and google+ all i can see is that I am linked from there and not exactly who had the link.

    Is there a reason those references aren’t detailed?

    Probably because on Facebook you’re not friends with the people sharing your links, OR they’ve got their privacy settings so that it’s not trackable. Lots of people are in this position. As for Twitter, unfortunately that’s all the information we’ve got at this point. Maybe someday it’ll improve.
