Determine IP Address of Poster
-
I need to verify the identity of a poster on one of my blogs, but I can’t seem to find out what the ip address is of the user that has been making the posts. I know this information is available for users that post comments, but I need to be able to determine the ip address of the user that has been posting on the blog itself.
Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.
This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.
If you don’t understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

If your blog is a WordPress.COM blog, the information is in your dashboard where you view your comments. But they might be using a proxy or on dial-up where the IP changes.

Since we are all volunteers here in the forums we do not have access to the backend of your blog. My suggestion is to contact support directly and see if they can determine who made the changes to the posts. I think they can. http://support.wordpress.com/contact/
First off though, is there anyone else that is an editor or administrator on your blog? They would have the permission level to change posts. If you have anyone set up as an editor or administrator, then you need to chat with them.
In the off chance someone guessed your password, I would suggest that you change the password for your login and make it something hard to guess including both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and possibly some special characters such as * or # or something like that.

If you can get them to email you, their email will have their IP (although I think Hotmail all gives one IP).
