    Essentially, I’m trying to find out if I can create a WooCommerce store before moving I domain name that I already have to WordPress.com come. Perhaps a related question is whether I create a WooCommerce store without a domain name.

    Hi there,

    Yes you can fully set up your new site with us (including setting up WooCommerce and any other plugins) before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    When you first create your site we assign a staging subdomain you can use to get set up in private. The temporary address of your site is findrtest.wpcomstaging.com, and when you are ready to “launch” the new site to replace the current one, that is when you will want to “map” or transfer your domain to us.

    Also since you mentioned you are setting up a WordPress.com site, you may wish to check out the replay of our recent webinar where we walk through setting up the plugin and adding your first few products.
