Developing a New Site Using my Existing or a New WordPress Theme

    Hello, my name is Karen. I am working with an older theme (i.e., Brooklyn) on an existing live site, which someone else designed for me several years ago. Now, I am looking to create a new site, which extends our organization. However, I’m exploring keeping the same theme or using a new one with the same credentials. Is this possible? The link to the existing site is gloryteacher.com. Lastly, I did see this post: https://bit.ly/3vbQcGn. However, it didn’t really answer my question. I already purchased the domain and someone attempted to help me build the site, but the work dynamic was horrible. That domain is thopaad.org.

    Hello There,

    It looks like gloryteacher.com is a self-hosted WordPress site, which is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You would need to contact Siteground support to see if they can set up a staging site for you: https://www.siteground.co.uk/

    Ok, so are you looking to build a new site under that domain with WordPress.com? The reason why I ask is because this is also with Siteground.
