Development mode of a site on wordpress.com

    Hello,

    We would like:

    – Duplicate the site of a client who is hosted at wordpress.com
    – Place this copy of the site in development mode in a temporary hosting space always at wordpress.com (so that no one other than us can see the changes made on the site while the work is done)
    – Replace this modified site in its current hosting to replace the current version with the reworked version

    Is it possible?

    What hosting plan does it take to be able to do this?

    Will this package have to be kept after the site has been replaced?

    Can wordpress.com make this double transfer (with temporary accommodation space for development)?

    If yes, at what cost?

    Currently our client has a free plan while we expect this to require us to change plans.

    Hi Mario, you can simply create another site on whatever plan is necessary, keep it private until you’re ready, then point the domain to that.

    Here’s how to export the data:

    Export Your Website’s Content

    You’ll find import in basically the same area but for the new site.

    You *may* need a paid plan (currently you’re on a domain-only option that is no longer offered) however, I’d recommend that anyway since it comes with more features and gets rid of our ads.
