Dicarded comments

  Hi

  I’ve seen this posted a few times on this forum but I don’t see a satisfactory explanation.

  Someone who had commented several times on one of my blogs, tried to post a very long comment (about 1700 words) with a few links. She hit the submit button and it went to the plain white screen with the word ‘discarded’ at top left. She was subsequently able to post short comments querying this. At my invitation, she emailed me the comment and I tried to post it on her behalf, using her user name but a different email address to the one she had originally been using. The same thing happened. I decided to try posting it in shorter segments. The first segment got posted OK but on posting the second one, I got the discarded message again. I got round the problem by editing the first post from the dashboard to add the remainder of it so it all appears as one long post.

  Any ideas about why this happened?
