Did Anyone Get The Neo-Sapien Theme Corrected
-
Did anyone ever find a solution to that right-hand sidebar moving down to the bottom of the page?

The right hand sidebar moving is not caused by a bug in the template, but it happens on almost all themes when posts contain open divs or other wrong html nesting.
You’ll see many threads on this forum regarding sidebars slipping to the bottom of the page and the solution is always to correct the html code of the blog postings. -

With neo-sapien, when your browser window is set too narrow, for some reason the right-hand sidebar drops to the bottom of the page. Is that what you are talking about? That is the only strange behavior I’m aware of with neo-sapien that appears to be out of the ordinary.

So how do you reset the browser window? — Because I did what Isadora the Moderator said to do last night about the blog postings (if she meant to put <div style=”text-align: left;”> before and </div> after each post) and that right-hand sidebar still floats back and forth to the bottom of the page in both the IE and Firefox browsers.
-
There is something in the way the theme was designed that makes that happen. If your browser window is not set wide enough to display the entire page, including the right side bars, the right sidebar move to the bottom of the page. To get the sidebars back, simply make your browser window wider by dragging the edge.
There really isn’t anything to reset or change in your browser since it is not the browser, but the way the theme was designed by the author.

So basically you’re saying that: if the rest of the world doesn’t have their browser windows set correctly then a blog with the Neo-Sapien skin is going to have that right-hand sidebar floating back and forth to the bottom of the page all the time?

lonestarverve, in which context did I write that? If you gave us a link to your blog we might have a look at the problem.

It is the way the theme works. It will work that way for every viewer no matter what browser they are using.

I just checked with Tung Do, the designer of Neo-Sapien and he confirmed that in the first version of Neo-Sapien – which is what WordPress.com is using – that if the browser window is not wide enough, the right sidebars will go to the bottom of the page. That is the way he designed it.

Isadora, here you go: http://queerverve.wordpress.com/
You might also look at these blogs with the same theme:

But the problem is the sidebar keeps floating back and float over and over again. It at the top for a couple of hours and then its at the bottom for another couple of hours and back up again for a while. And this is happening on all the WordPress blogs that have this theme.
I’ve been working for websites and blogs for over 10 years now and I’ve then seen anything like this!

I used Neo-Sapien for quite some time, and the only time the right sidebars went to the bottom was if I had my browser window adjusted to where it was too narrow. All of the sites you provided links to look fine to me as long as my browser window is wide enough. If I resize my browser width, the moment the right side touches the sidebar, it goes to the bottom of the page.
This choice by the designer was the reason I quit using Neo-Sapien. The newer version of Neo-Sapien does not do this, the sidebar is fixed, but WordPress.com is not using the latest version.
The only way to get away from this behavior is to change themes I’m afraid.

Dang if you aren’t right. I just refreshed your blog in my browser, which had been fine, and it sent the sidebar to the bottom. This theme seems to be really sensitive to how wide your browser is set. All I have to do is set my browser a tiny bit wider than I had it when the sidebar went to the bottom, and the sidebar will stay in place.
You might think about contacting support to see if they will “fix” it so that it will not do this, but it might be that your only solution is going to be to change themes.

I just change my screen resolutions and on sizes 1152 X 864 and above, the page looks fine but anything below that it still floats back and forth. I also checked my site traffic stats and only 7.05% of viewers have a 1152 X 864 screen resolution. All the rest of the 92.95% have a 1024 X 7268 size or small.
So Tung Do has designed a blog skin that looks wacky on 93% of the computers in the world. — What the heck is this man thinking?

Well, he corrected it on the second release. Unfortunately the ol’ dot com is using the first version.
