Did I break my blog?

  Recently, I installed and applied a new theme for my blog. When transferring my widgets, I forgot to transfer the widget that holds the “log in” button and now that I’m logged out of my blog, I cannot find a way to get back in without that button. Can you help me please? Did I break my blog?

  Good news: you didn’t break your blog.

  What might have happened is that when you installed the new theme and widgets, you probably removed the standard “Meta” widget, which contains the links you mention. As it is part of WordPress and not dependent on a particular theme, you should be able to drag it to your sidebar again.

  Note that I use “might” and “should” because the site you’ve indicated is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software).

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities (and these are the WordPress.com forums).

  Thank you so much! My brother is the “technology person” here and I couldn’t get a hold of him, so I was quite lost. Your second comment was exactly what I needed. I knew how to fix it once I got to my dashboard, the only problem was getting there. Thanks again! :)
