Hi there,
There are two flavors of WordPress.
WordPress.org
With WordPress.org, you host your own blog or website. There are different hosting providers like Bluehost, DreamHost, HostGator etc to do the hosting for you. WordPress.org is where you’ll find the free WordPress software that you can download and install on your own web server. WordPress is open source software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app. Beautiful designs, powerful features, and the freedom to build anything you want.WordPress.com
WordPress.com, on the other hand, takes care of all of the hosting for you. You don’t have to download software or manage a web server. You can just relax and focus on your content of your website. Hundreds of beautiful themes are available for you to choose and make it your own with Custom Design. Please find below WordPress.com plans and pricing details
https://wordpress.com/pricing/For more info, please read the below support document.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

So if you have signed for WordPress.com Premium plan, then you don’t need to pay Bluehost for hosting as WordPress.com Premium plan already covers hosting.
Hope that clarifies.
Thank you.

Thank you. I went ahead and purchased bluehost hosting for a WordPress.org account. Can I please cancel my WordPress.com account?

You cannot delete a WordPress.com account for good, but you can empty it out from all your data and leave it inactive.
You can find all the general information about deleting accounts here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
These links instead, will guide you through the process of deleting your site’s content:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/This action is permanent and cannot be reversed so only delete content you are sure you won’t need it again in the future.
To remove all personal information from your account settings have a look here:
Hope this helps!

Yes, sorry I should have mentioned that in the previous post. You can cancel your plan from the manage purchases section of your account, here. Click on your plan, select Remove WordPress Premium and there follow the steps for a refund. Here you can find the support page about refunds, for more detailed info.
And this is the support guide for Domain cancellation:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/cancel-domain/
If you need to contact a Staff member about your cancellation or your refund, you can either tag this thread with a modlook tag in the right sidebar (Tags section) or write them at:

Hope is all clear :)

Hi there,
You are still eligible for a refund. However, I’d recommend against cancelling your kindly.blog domain if you still want to use it. Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.
If you don’t cancel the domain you won’t be refunded the cost of the domain, which is $30 in this case. Then we can help you point the domain at Bluehost, and once you’ve owned it for 60 days you can transfer it there if you prefer.
I just want to also make sure you understand the difference between the two versions of WordPress.
If you install the open source WordPress software with Bluehost you’ll have more freedom in terms of customization, but that comes at a cost. With that version of WordPress you’ll be responsible for your own software updates, backups and site security, as well as SEO, as that’s not included in most hosting plans. Backup, security services and SEO plugins are usually premium services. On WordPress.com we take care of all of that automatically, even on free sites.
Depending on the hosting plan you pick there might also be limitations on the amount of storage for your site itself, i.e. not just for media files, but storage available for the actual site database, posts, pages, etc. and on the bandwidth of your site. On WordPress.com bandwidth and site memory are unlimited, and we only limit storage for actual media files based on your plan.
And unless you specifically pay for a hosting plan that includes WordPress support, you’ll need to fix things yourself should they break – most hosting plans don’t support the actual software.
If you’re only starting out it might be easier for you to start with WordPress.com and learn how the basic software works first. You can always migrate to a self-hosted installation later if you find WordPress.com doesn’t fit your needs. It’s up to you, though.
Let me know if you need any help cancelling the plan, and please specifically confirm whether you want to keep or cancel the domain.

Thank you for this detailed response. I think I may like to stay with wordpress.com after all, and cancel my bluehost account. Could you answer a few more questions for me?
Am I able to monetize a premium wordpress.com account?
Can I link a premium wordpress.com account to social media like instagram without using my current gmail account?
Do people typically outgrow wordpress.com when they become more experienced, or can you stay there happily always?
Thank you!!

Am I able to monetize a premium wordpress.com account?
There are several ways to monetise your site, yes. For some methods, like affiliate links and sponsored posts you don’t need any upgrades at all. To add advertising to your site you’ll need the Premium Plan, though, but you should also realise that you will only make meaningful income through that if you have a very popular site that gets a high amount of traffic.
We outline several options for monetisation here:
Can I link a premium wordpress.com account to social media like instagram without using my current gmail account?
I’m not sure I understand the question – sharing your posts to social media has nothing to do with your email account. It’s also not possible to link a site to Instagram to auto-share posts there, as Instagram does not allow that type of connection.
But to auto-share your posts on social media sites you can use our Publicize feature which is available to all sites regardless of plan, and you can also add sharing buttons to your posts to allow your readers to also share your posts on various platforms:
Do people typically outgrow wordpress.com when they become more experienced, or can you stay there happily always?
This depends entirely on individual needs and how deeply you want to learn the WordPress software. WordPress is an extremely versatile piece of software, and can be customized to do just about anything you want through adding add-ons, called plugins, and even by modifying the code directly.
We include several features on WordPress.com, like the sharing features mentioned above, that are not in the WordPress software and would need to be added via plugins there. But then there are features we don’t include. Say, for example, you want to hide your content behind a paywall, or set up an online store, you’d need plugins for those features. Then you can either upgrade to our Business Plan which supports outside plugins, or you can move to a self-hosted setup.
We also have content restrictions on WordPress.com so there are certain types of sites we don’t allow, no matter what plan you buy.
There are people who’ve had their blogs here for as long as WordPress.com has existed, while others decide to move on after the first year or two. In the end it comes down to finding the option that works best for what you want to do.
I hope that answers your questions :)

You have answered so many questions. Thank you. I think I would like to stay with Word Press.com.
Do you recommend signing up for G Suite? What is the advantage?
Thank you,
Nicole -
G Suite will allow you to have your own email adress @yourdomain, so info @ kindly.blog, for example, and then it comes with the other Google business apps, like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc. The apps aside, the big benefit about this option is you have the familiar Gmail interface for your email.
However, if you only want an email address and don’t care about the rest of the stuff, you can set up a Zoho account for free and link it to your domain. There are also other paid email providers you can look at.
If you want an email address to receive emails at, but you’re fine to send emails from your regular Gmail address you can also set up email forwarding directly with us – you can have up to five forwarding addresses on your domain.
You can find information on the various options here.
