Did my new theme have a template? I can't figure it out.

I’m lost. I switched to a new theme because I liked the template so much better. I had my site reset, getting rid of all the old content. But now there doesn’t seem to be a template for the new theme. I can’t figure out how to make it look like the theme I chose.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, Sofia! There are a few tricks to set up the Sela theme like the Sela demo site. By default, you’ll see a blog layout for the theme. To set up the front page like in the demo, you can set up a Front Page with these steps:

    1. Create or edit a page, and assign it the Front Page Template from the Page Attributes box.
    2. Go to Settings → Reading in your site’s WP Admin dashboard, and set “Front page displays” to “A static page.”
    3. Select the page created in Step One as “Front page,” and choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.

Once that’s set up, you can fill out the content on that front page:

    1. The featured area at the top of the page displays a full-width featured image and an overlay containing the page content. That featured image works best when it’s at least 1180 pixels wide.
    2. Below the featured area are three front-page widget areas, displayed side-by-side in columns. This is where you can get creative and use any of the available widgets to feature products or services, or showcase different parts of your website. On the theme demo this section is populated with text widgets, one in each front-page widget area.
    3. Below that is the Testimonial area, displaying two testimonials. To add a testimonial, go to Testimonials → Add New in your dashboard. You can change the order in which your testimonials are displayed by using the Order field of the Page Attributes module on the testimonial edit screen. If no testimonials are added, this section will not be displayed.

You can find that information plus more tips for setting up the theme like the demo site on the Sela theme page. If you have any questions about that, please let me know! :)

Thanks so much for your help! The more I searched around, the more I found directions and tutorials, but your step-by-step directions are perfect, and just what I needed! Please forgive my silliness. I really do appreciate your help.

    Hi Sofia,

You’re very welcome! There’s nothing to forgive. :) If I can do anything more to help, just let me know.

*sigh* Sorry I have so many questions. I’m wondering about fonts this time. I’m trying to add the “Lobster” font to my list of fonts. I added it to a kit on Typekit, but can’t figure out how to get it to show up in my fonts on the website. Help?

    Hi!

As of November 2013, we no longer support connecting TypeKit accounts to new Custom Design purchases so I’m afraid you won’t be able to setup outside fonts from TypeKit. However, you can still change between fonts under Appearance -> Customize -> Fonts as shown here:
