Did somebody steal my domain name?
-
My blogsite is geekritiqued.wordpress.com. About 6 months ago I registered for the domain name Geekritique.com here on WordPress. I tried making Geekritique.com my primary URL, but it wasn’t mapping my blog correctly, so I just switched it back to geekritiqued.wordpress.com.
Well today I tried it again. I logged onto my admin backend and it prompted me “Tip: You’re one step away from using geekritique.com as your blog address. Click here to activate geekritique.com.” And it seemed to work. When I typed geekritiqued.wordpress.com, it mapped it straight to Geekritique.com. But not really. It then mapped to another WordPress site, one that’s definitely not mine.
Help.
I have no idea what the heck is going on. If you have any clue, please let me know. I know I paid for the domain, and it’s registered to me until September 2015.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just to give a bit more information, the blog it actually shows when you head to Geekritique.com is “TheGeekBinge.com”, which certainly isn’t mine.

geekritique.com – was registered a month ago at Godaddy not WordPress.COM

I have flagged this for the staff – they can see what you actually bought and when – but you did not register the domain name geekritique.com 4 months ago here
might you have made a spelling error?

Yeah, I saw that. Which is why I’m very confused. I know for a fact that “Geekritique.com” is a domain attached to my account. It’s not my primary domain just because it now maps to “TheGeekBinge.com” a fairly new blog with two posts that looks abandoned.
Perhaps it’s because I wasn’t doing anything with the domain that someone else was able to swoop in and grab it? I know it says some guy named Timothy Edwards owns it. And that he purchased it on GoDaddy.

I’m looking at my purchases, and I upgraded my blog to premium status on October 23, 2014. That offered me a free domain, which I used for “Geekritique.com”. I never activated it, as I mentioned, but it’s still very much in my list on “my domains”. And will renew on Sept. 23, 2015.
However, going over my receipt, I still get the option to create a free domain, which seems like I never actually did it. But I did, and it’s been in my domain list since October. Is it possible it never fully went through in the system, or WordPress never actually bought the URL they promised me?

You do have the domain geekritique.com mapped to your account, but it was never registered. Both pieces are required to use a domain with your site.
Domain mapping on its own is for when you’ve registered a domain somewhere else (like at GoDaddy) and want to use the domain with your site here.
Since the domain has been purchased by someone else, it’s not possible for you to register it now, but if you would like to register and map a new domain, I can remove the existing mapping subscription for you, and help you make sure the new one gets fully attached to your account. Since you have the premium plan, this registration won’t cost any extra.

Ah, that’s a shame. Well, I guess I must’ve misunderstood it then. My mistake. I guess I’ll keep the WordPress URL for now. Is there any way I can change it from Geekritiqued.wordpress.com to Geekritique.wordpress.com? (The difference being the ‘d’)

I guess I’ll keep the WordPress URL for now.
I’ve removed the domain mapping upgrade for geekritique.com.
Would you like to keep the Premium bundle active on your site? You could setup a new domain if you would like. It also gives you access to the features listed here:

I’m afraid that site already exists on WordPress.com. Although it has been deleted, you will not be able to re-use the site address.
