Did someone change my nameservers?

  • Unknown's avatar

Today suddenly my site is down. I can still log in to wordpress.com. There is a warning that the DNS needs to be fixed, but when I go to change it, there is no option for changing nameservers.

The nameservers on record are now pointing to name-services.com instead of wordpress.com, which they had been before. Could someone have hacked our site?

  • Hi there,

Your site cwc-berkeley.org is loading fine. I’ve gone ahead and perform some checking for you, your nameservers no longer point to name-services.com since 2 years ago and are indeed pointing to WordPress.com currently.

    Name Servers
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Please let us know where are you seeing the warning on the DNS issue. If you’re still unable to access your site, please try clearing your browser’s cache.

  • Hi there,

No one has hacked your site. But the domain, cwc-berkeley.org, is also just mapped to WordPress.com, not registered with us. If the name servers were changed, it was done at your domain provider, Enom.com, so please contact them to follow up on what happened here.
