Did someone use my account?

    I just got an email, a few emails about a new user sign in. I am the only user on this account. I actually haven’t used it in a long time. Can you assure me I am still the only one? Many thanks! Annie Meisels

    Thanks for that. That’s an email that comes from your WordPress install at apowerfulvoicecourses.net and not WordPress.com.

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

    We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.

    That isn’t a login notice – it’s a notice of a new user registration. Can you look and see if that user is under Users -> All Users in your dashboard? If so, they’ve been added because you have the “anyone can register” option checked in your Settings -> General for “Membership” – on your WordPress login screen, the link to register can be seen here: https://d.pr/i/o7UTHJ

    Most people don’t have registration enabled because it’s a source of spam, so you can disable that under that same screen. You can also remove those unfamiliar registered users after you disable that under the Users -> All Users.
