Did WordPress just add jetpack plugin to every blog?
-
Went to login today and saw a new little thing on my page: “Powered by jetpack”. last I knew this was a plugin for WordPress that you had to add… and I haven’t.
Did it just become a standard thing for everybody or something? Just wondering… (I soooo hate changes and surprises that sneak up on me…)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We already had all the plugins individually listed here https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/ Jetpack is a mega plugin developed to provide wordpress.ORG users parity with wordpress.COM users.
I d not know why the Powered by jetpack link has appeared on the bottom of our Admin wordpress.com pages. It will, of course, help jetpack’s page ranking so I will tag this thread for a Staff response.

I checked my Plugins page and it’s listed there and active… but I definitely never activated it or added it or anything. I didn’t even think it was something we could use. I thought it was a .WordPress.org thing only.

P.S. Go to https://wordpress.com/plugins/http:/nekonekomovielitterbox.wordpress.com/ and note the Upgrade links.

OOPS! Go to https://wordpress.com/plugins/nekonekomovielitterbox.wordpress.com/ and note the Upgrade links.
-
Yep I see those Upgrade links, but I haven’t clicked on any or the like, I assumed those were for additional services I’d have to pay for as a Business or Premium client.
I noticed that “Infinite Scroll” is also listed as active, but I disabled that a while ago… and it’s not behaving like it’s active. I just checked.
I was mostly wondering… does everybody else see Jetpack as up and active on their sites as well?

Hi folks, nothing’s changed but the text you see that mentions Jetpack — just a marketing adjustment. The features of Jetpack have always been a part of WordPress.com. Jetpack is WordPress.com features and services on WordPress.org sites.

Thanks. That’s what I thought. And, Jetpack links on every wordpress.COM site is a major page rank boost to jetpack.com. WordPress.com page rank is 9/10. Jetpack page rank is 3/10 so now watch it soar.

Yeah, a little more name recognition with a side effect of better SEO can’t be so bad :)
Enjoy your weekend, all!

Evert time I load my login page they benefit. :). Best wishes for a happy weekend to you too.

Cool to know… unexpected changes always freak me out. Even ones that aren’t really changes. :)
