didn’t get notified of comment to moderate

  I got my first comment, and it went into moderation, but I didn’t receive email notification. Which meant it languished in the moderation queue until I happened to check it. I didn’t get any emails, not even in my false spam folder, until I approved the comment. *Then* I got an email that a comment had been approved. Something’s not right.

  I had left the comment moderation defaults alone. So in the Discussion Option, these settings were checked:

  E-mail me whenever:
  * Anyone posts a comment
  * A comment is held for moderation

  Before a comment appears:
  * Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
  * Comment author must have a previously approved comment

  I have now cleared the last option.

  Check the spam folder of your email account: automatically generated emails from wordpress.com might be classified as spam from your mail spam filter.

  I did check my spam folder and there was nothing there. I never get spam in that account–wait a second; lemme go check something.

  That account wasn’t set to save screened mail. The notifications must have gotten thrown out. That would explain a lot.
