didnt receive the API key with activation email

  I was supposed to receive an activation email with an API key so I can finish setting up my blog. I got the activation email, but no API key.

  We no longer send API keys with activation emails. What did you need the API key for?

  Hello!

  I came here because WordPress Stats asks for an WP API Key.
  How do I activate this plugin if the api is no longer provided with a wordpress account?

  You have to go to http://akismet.com/ set up an account and then get the API key there now. As staff-blorbo says, the API keys are no longer hand out from wordpress.com.

  Well, as I said it was about the WordPress Stats. However I found out that there is now this Jetpack Plugin and that it the Stats are now in this package!
