Different background possible for each page of blog?

  I would love to have different backgrounds for my blog pages–specifically, a solid colored background for my main page and then images used as a background on subsequent pages like “about”, etc. Is that possible? I’ve tried editing each individual page, but whenver I do the background for all blog pages in affected.

  It’s possible on some themes to have a custom header, but it is not possible to have a custom background.(Unless perhaps you have the Custom CSS upgrade and even then I am not certain, as it’s beyond my ken.)

  Actually, I think the one you are using now on your blog using Coraline is quite effective. :)

  Thanks justjennifer! :) I thought what I was using was a custom background since it’s my own image. I would like to have different images for each page though, if possible…

  It could be with the paid CSS upgrade and some CSS editing experience. I would have to set up my test blog with Coraline and try it, and right now I’m in the middle of designing some CSS for another blogger and I have to way for their approval on the changes.

  @videodansedubreuil please don’t bump threads; some people feel it distorts the time/space continuum. ;-) There are people here from around the world answering forum questions and it may take a little while to answer.

  Yes, what you are using is a Custom Background. Coraline and several other WordPress.com themes allow you to upload your own background, but this allows one Custom background for all pages on your site. As tsp has pointed out, it could be done if you have the paid CSS upgrade and hopefully experience with CSS.

  @tsp-at this point in time, I feel the experience is more important than the upgrade, especially as there are so few forum volunteers to answer CSS questions.

  @jennifer, I agree. For the last week I’ve been about the only CSSer around, and I’m trying to get my own business site done, so my time is precious right now.

  Thanks for your comments. I am learning CSS through online guides and will make the upgrade when I feel more confident with it. For now I’ll just have to be satisifed with one background image.
