Different custom sidebar menus on different pages twenty eleven
-
I’m using the custom menu widget in Twenty Eleven theme to have a sidebar sub menu BUT I want to specify which of several submenus depending on the page. I’m assuming I will need to do some nested if/then CSS statement involving the page ids. Can I do this? Is there a simpler way? And what is the page id coding for Twenty Eleven? Can I customize my sidebar in general depending on the page?

One of the main features of the Twenty Eleven theme is that it is not designed to display a sidebar on the posts when displayed on their own pages. That being said I’d like to suggest that you read this article on the theme.
Widgets now have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilitywidgets do have visibility settings -
