Hi,
…is it possible to have different header images on different pages…
Different custom header images for different pages is not presently possible. However, you may achieve the same effect on themes which allow featured images on each static page or post. This capability doesn’t apply to archives pages.
…as well to have page-specific widgets?
Visibility settings on each widget can be modified to restrict their visibility to specific pages.

It is possibile with CSS to set different header images on each page. We use the unique page id class that is defined in the opening body selector. If you can give me an example page, I can work out the CSS for that page for you and then you can use that as a guide for creating the ones for the other pages.
On the widgets, you can use Widget Visibility feature to set which widgets appear on pages.

This feature works with themes that allow custom header images and have featured header images enabled. See here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/featured-image-header/ and then here https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#featured-header-images

Thank you all for your help. Here is an example of a page where I’d like to choose the header image:

I’ll have a look at the links you suggested, thank you.

Glad to find this information. I am new to this and working in the Adventure theme and like magdanicola, would like to set specific header images on my pages. Currently I have a number of images uploaded and they change randomly, but being able to set them on the desired page would be much nicer. Here is an example page: http://karenemilsonwrites.com/category/hidden/
Thank you in advance for your help. -
@karenemilson, CSS is generally theme specific and since you are using a different theme can I ask you to create a new thread in the CSS Forum? Many thanks in advance.
