Different logged in name?

  WordPress says I am logged in as desperate ramblings and my site is randomramblingsfromcornwall.wordpress.com Just wanted to know is this normal to have two different names as I only have one site. Maybe I did something wrong when I signed up? I am very new to wordpress with little technical ability so guess my way like others I am finding but I would like to clarify this point please.

  Hi there. I think you’re confusing your username and your blog address. Your username is desperateramblings. That’s what you use to log in to your WordPress.com account, the name with which you access your Gravatar profile, and the name that appears next to your posts in the forum.

  You can also set a Display Name. The Display Name isn’t used to log in, can be different from your username, and is the name that will be shown as the author of your posts and when you leave a comment on any blog.   http://randomravingsfromcornwall.wordpress.com/ is the address of a blog within your account. You can have as many blogs in your account as you want, and none of their addresses have to match your username. http://desperateramblings.wordpress.com/ was reserved for you when you created that username, so no one but you will ever be able to register it, but you don’t have to register it if you don’t want to use it.
