Different menu title and page title for the same page?

Hi, I’m looking to differentiate between the menu item ‘Home’ and the title that appears at the top of the page itself, in TwentySeventeen. The theme’s own demo shows this as possible (showing ‘Home’ in the menu and directly below it the title ‘Welcome to Twenty Seventeen’ with the accompanying page text), but doesn’t explain how to achieve it. I’d be grateful for any advice.

Have you tried using the detailed theme description page at https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyseventeen? It has set up instructions there. You can scroll down to Customizing the static front page there as I believe that’s what you are looking for.

We Volunteers do not request access to private sites. Staff can access them so we respect privacy settings and type modlook into the sidebar tags on the thread for a Staff follow-up. Hi there,
The page title will be whatever you add in the editor, and if you use the default menu that will also be the label that appears in the menu.
To have a different label show in the menu, you need to create a custom menu instead – with a custom menu you can edit the labels in the menu to show any text you want, regardless of the page titles themselves.

Hi, I am using Buttons2 theme. I tried adding a new page title but I can’t seem to arrange it the order that I want. Any help or tips will be appreciated. Thank you.

@fatenhmb, please don’t post into existing threads created by other users on unrelated issues.
To control the order of menu items you either need to set a page order in the page attributes in the editor, or you need to set up a custom menu as described at the link I posted above.
If you need more help with this, please start your own thread, and include a link to your site so we can take a look.
