Different Photo showing, when posting a link to blog

When sharing my blog link to fb. A photo appears above the link. The photo is neither the blog icon photo nor of the header photo. But of a previously used theme. Is there anyway I can get the blog icon to show in its place.

The Images in Publicize section of the Publicize support page says:
Facebook Publicize typically selects images that are at least 200 x 200 pixels in the following order:
- Featured image
- The first image of a Slideshow within the post
- The first image of a Gallery within the post
- An image attached to the post and inserted
- Any other image in the post (not attached but perhaps linked)
See also the Image Thumbnails section of the Facebook Image Thumbnail support page. This section indicates that the Blavatar is selected when you share you blog’s main page on Facebook, but other images are selected when sharing a post or page on Facebook, as described in the Posts and Pages subsection.
There appear to be some discrepancies between the information provided in the Facebook Image Thumbnail support page and in the Publicize support page regarding how images are selected.
Because of the discrepancies referred to above, and because I’ve no experience wrt Facebook matters, I’ll call for staff attention to the topic. You may subscribe to the topic at the link in the sidebar.

After looking into it further. The photo that is showing on the link on fb. Is one used by a previously used theme.

It could be a featured image. Featured images will remain when you switch to a different theme, even if they are default featured images, that is, images that came preset with the previous theme.

@musicdoc1 – After taking a look at this. I do believe it was from a previous theme. I like the photo, it doesn’t go with an equestrian blog.
@lizkarkoshi – the link is https://thecollectedcanterings.wordpress.com – I haven’t posted any posts yet. But never had this issue when either setting the blog icon or a header photo, usually with my other site, once I had set the two, either one would show. I had wondered whether when I do post, whether it will show a featured photo that I put on. – I would like either the header photo or the blog icon to show up. As both are more in line with an equestrian blog.

Hi there –
I’ve removed the featured image for you on the blog home page. That was the black + white coffee house image that was displaying with the link when shared to Facebook.
Now, when I try to share the link there’s not a thumbnail image. Which ever image you’d like to display when https://thecollectedcanterings.wordpress.com/ is shared, should be set as the featured image on the Home page.
Go to My Sites > Pages > Edit > Featured Image (on the left) > Add New
