Different widgets on home page vs. post – WordPress.com
-
Is its possible to have different widgets display on my homepage (dynamic homepage showing most recent posts) vs. the widgets that display on a post?
I’d like to stop the left sidebar widgets from displaying on an individual posts but keep them on the home page. Can this be done with the free wordpress.com account?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can set the widget visibility and use the options to show those widgets only on the front page of your site.

Thanks halluke. That worked like a charm. The only issue now is that I was hoping the middle column would display wider, in the space that is no longer occupied by the widgets.
Can that be done?

The only thing I can think of is to explore how the different post formatting options look in your theme. Not all themes support this, and even with the themes that do not all the format types may be offered but it’s worth looking through.
I have a feeling it won’t expand the post content area into the sidebar in any theme. Usually the only way to do this is with CSS, which is part of an upgrade package.
