differentce between the title sprintf and normal the title

  Are they the same?
  Method 1

  <?php the_title( sprintf( '<h1 class="entry-title"><a href="%s" rel="bookmark">', esc_url( get_permalink() ) ), '</a></h1>' ); ?>

  Method 2

  <a href="<?php the_permalink" ?>><?php the_title ?> </a>

  Method 2 is easy…This I have learned myself…So I would like to ask is there any method so that I can convert method 1 to method 2..

  Those do not apply to any blog hosted by WordPress.COM. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
