Difficulties importing XML file

    Hi, I am trying to migrate from WordPress.com to WordPress.org but when I go to import the XML file (4.8mb) to the new site, I get a string of error messages along these lines:

    Failed to import author . Their posts will be attributed to the current user.
    Media “IMG_0627” already exists.

    I’ve attempted to map all the posts to the “admin” author with no success.

    I have seen that others have had this problem but I haven’t managed to find any solutions that work for me. Any ideas?
