Difficulties logging in

Hello
When I attempt to login to WordPress, I am sent an email which I then have to access and click a link in, in order to complete the login process. I am not able to just enter my email address and password to login.
When I originally set up my account, I associated it with my Google login.
Please can you advise?Thank you

Hi Jamie,
Please make sure your login URL is https://wordpress.com/log-in but not https://wordpress.com/log-in/link.
The second login URL will send you a login link to be clicked from your email’s inbox.

Thank you, but unfortunately exactly the same thing is happening. When I click your first link, I get to a login page where I enter my username, but I am then emailed a link and have to open the email in order to complete the login.

When you clicked the first link, do you see exactly https://wordpress.com/log-in?
Please try this:
1) Clear your browser’s cache.2) Click this link again: https://wordpress.com/log-in
If you still receive an email after entering your username, please take a full screenshot (showing the address bar) and share to us.

Hello again – thanks for sticking with me.
I cleared my cache and tried again, but still the same issue. I have taken a couple of screenshots, but I’m not clear on how I attach them to this post. When I drag them to this window, at first it looks as though that’s going to work, but when I release them in THIS text field, I’m immediately redirected and asked to login again. Maybe I’m just jinxed when it comes to WordPress :(

I see that you have already disconnected your Google account and to disable the login link you need to create a password:
https://wordpress.com/me/security
