Difficulty creating a Gallery

I am using the theme Photography, but finding it really difficult to get the Gallery to work for me.
I’ve found that when I have managed to get some images into the Gallery … they’ve turned up on my blog as well.
Help please!

Creating galleries in the Photography theme can indeed be a bit confusing, but the creators of that theme have set up a Support page which will walk you through almost every aspect of using the theme, including how to properly create galleries!

However, once I had bought the site I immediately printed off the above instructions. I have read and re read the m numerous times for hours – I have pressed what I thought were all the buttons!
My daughter has since read and reread them with me too …
I’m sure there must be something we are missing, but I don’t know what it is.
The instructions do state that one can – Show or hide gallery posts on your blog – but how?
I still need help!

Hello,
The Gallery function is really a gallery of all of your uploaded galleries. In order for it to work, you have to also have uploaded gallery posts. All of your current posts are set to the “Standard” format instead of “Gallery” format.
On the page which I linked you to, the next section detailed how to create an individual gallery. Once you’ve created at least one individual gallery with a Featured Image, the Gallery will start populating with content.
